Nicely done! It’s a day to pause the whining and turn on the gratitude.

Am a fellow Metro/Atlantean and have been since 1990 when I moved our family here from the Mid-West…back then, I made a hard and fast rule: No travel in and around the Thanksgiving holidays…now that me and the Dear Wife are orphaned by the deaths of our parents and our immediate families are scattered to the four winds, it is just us’ns…these days, our Thanksgivings are just the two of us, celebrating our thanks for each other since our anniversary is November 22nd…

I appreciated your post since it brought back to the forefront of my mind many of my family’s Thanksgivings in the past…am in agreeance with you about how good we DO have it, these days and we are thankful and grateful for whatever or whomsoever brought us to this moment in the Eternal Now…

"...herd buffalo over a cliff,"

Had to chuckle when I read that.

About the only herding I do these days, is our two dogs into an SUV. After their scheduled daily runabout, where they sniff out every mouse in the park, and then chase each other until they're utterly exhausted.

Yep. Me. Herding them into the SUV. So I can drive them home. To feed them.

The irony of it all is not lost on me.

Amen to your lovely Thanksgiving prayer.

Among the many blessings that I am thankful for is the blessing of reading thoughtful people like you. Thank you for sharing your wisdom, JD.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.
