Your very last line of a very educational explanation of the origins and legal meaning of 4th of July-- "the worthy remedy" -- confused me. What is being remedied by what? States rights by Federal force of arms?

Thank you for the nice comments.

Apologies for the confusion. The end referred to secession and independence (as the Declaration prescribed) as a remedy for central government overreach.
